In this collection, I compiled as many lesson plans and articles/books that pertain to gravity as I can. Gravity is often taught to upper elementary students (typically around 3rd or 5th grade) and is revisited often in other grades. The first source "Dropping Balls", is technically a middle school lesson, but it could easily be simplified into an elementary lesson. I believe it would be quite interesting to see students' reactions to finding out that two balls of different weights would still land at the same time if dropped simultaneously. This would also have students understand that gravity pulls on objects regardless of weight. They can also see that paper (which has more air resistance) would fall much slower than a ball (which has less air resistance). The lesson plan "Standing On One Foot", brings us back to the fact that gravity pulls on an object a certain way regardless of "weight" put down. Students can combine this with the "Dropping Balls" activity to show this.
