Personal_Resource_Coloring_Element_Families.doc This worksheet asks students to color some of the significant families and to mark things like metals, non-metals, and metalloids - My students use this as a resource as we discuss identifying patterns using the periodic table and using it as a tool to make predictions. |

Personal_Resource_Properties_of_Element_Families.doc I use this in conjunction with the Periodic Table coloring page. Students are asked to use their books, the internet (selected websites provided on a bookmark page - used to be Delicious and changes yearly as resources change), and high school chemistry texts as groups to look up general properties of element families to see the patterns that are present. |
