This is a YouTube video less than 2 minutes long. Greenhouse gases are vital to life on Earth, but the growing concentration of certain gases, such as carbon dioxide, is throwing the planet's delicate balance out of whack. NASA is on the case, studying carbon dioxide on a global scale and its effects on our weather and climate.
NCEI maintains a suite of monitoring services that track key climate indicators using objective methods to provide historical context for current environmental conditions. Climate Monitoring services supply detailed information about temperature and precipitation, snow and ice, drought and wildfire, storms and wind, and weather patterns.

NOTE: At this time (July 2022) the data base software is undergoing an upgrade; however, there are a plethora of teaching resources to peruse at the site.
Students collect weather records for 4 weeks for their home city and a city located elsewhere in the world. They will load a weather app on their phones -several examples are provided. They collect temperature, precipitation, cloud cover, etc. They will create Climatographs with the data collected. A separate spreadsheet is part of this collection showing how one students recorded the data being collected.
