This session introduces text sets as powerful, multimodal tools that spark curiosity, deepen sensemaking, and support equitable access to science learning. Participants explore how thoughtfully curated collections of images, videos, artifacts, and readings can launch investigations, sustain inquiry, and strengthen students’ ability to notice, wonder, and construct understanding throughout the learning arc. Participants leave with ready to use planning templates, an example of inquiry rich text sets, and a clear process for building their own collections that nurture inquiry, agency, and joyful exploration in the classroom.

• Multimodal resources (images, objects, sound, texts and books, video clips) help all learners build background knowledge and engage deeply.
• Text sets sustain inquiry across a learning arc, not just at the launch.
• Teachers become curators, selecting resources that provoke questions, reveal patterns, and support conceptual connections.

All individuals receive a certificate of participation and 100 NSTA activity points for attending the live seminar and completing the end-of-program survey. A certificate of participation is not awarded for watching the recorded version of the program.
