Join us on Thursday, December 10, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM ET, to learn about the lifecycles of clouds and how clouds that result from wildfire influence the atmosphere.

In this web seminar, Dr. Sarah Woods, scientist and cloud microphysics specialist at the NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), shares her work studying clouds from up in the sky.

Learn about exciting science that can only take place aboard research aircraft outfitted with specially designed instruments for observing the atmosphere. Hear about the recent INSPYRE field campaign which is advancing our understanding of clouds that form because of wildfires, and about Sarah’s cloud development research, which is crucial to understanding how storms are changing in our warming world.

After the presentation, learn about free K-12 classroom resources for teaching about clouds available at the UCAR Center for Science Education.

All individuals receive a certificate of participation and 100 NSTA activity points for attending the live seminar and completing the end-of-program survey. A certificate of participation is not awarded for watching the recorded version of the program.

We invite you to register for upcoming web seminars at NSTA.
