Halloween is the perfect opportunity to make science a little more engaging and a lot more memorable. In this free webinar, three high school science teachers from the Vernier Trendsetters Community share real experiments they've run with their students, each with a spooky seasonal twist. From dropping pumpkins off a football stadium to watching chlorophyll glow under a black light, these are activities built on real-time data collection, curiosity, and some spooky seasonal fun.

Participants will:

• Analyze free fall acceleration by dropping pumpkins of different masses and tracking their motion with Vernier Video Analysis^®
• Explore fluorescence and light absorption by extracting chlorophyll and running an absorption curve with Go Direct^® SpectroVis^® Plus
• Connect molecular biology to chemistry by comparing the porphyrin ring structures of chlorophyll and hemoglobin
• Map object positions using a Go Direct Motion Detector as a model for bat echolocation—then evaluate its strengths and limitations as a model
