Spark deeper science learning through student talk. Discover strategies that turn classroom conversations into opportunities for students to collaborate, share ideas, and make sense of science together. Join us for an interactive web seminar focused on strengthening student-centered discussions.
Science learning thrives when students have frequent opportunities to share their ideas, ask questions, build on one another’s thinking, and use evidence to make sense of scientific phenomena. Effective classroom discourse doesn’t happen by chance; it is intentionally designed through purposeful instructional moves that position students as the thinkers and talkers in the classroom.
In this interactive web seminar, you’ll explore practical, high-impact discourse strategies that transform classroom conversations from teacher-directed exchanges into collaborative sensemaking. Through classroom examples and ready-to-use routines, you’ll learn how to facilitate discussions that uncover student thinking, encourage meaningful peer-to-peer interactions, and help students refine their ideas through evidence-based dialogue.
All individuals receive a certificate of participation and 100 NSTA activity points for attending the live seminar and completing the end-of-program survey. A certificate of participation is not awarded for watching the recorded version of the program.
We invite you to register for upcoming web seminars at NSTA.
