Does anyone have any good recommendations for any useful websites, apps, or technological resources to use to teach science in the classroom?

Hi Shannen, I found a few apps and online resources that can be used to incorporate technology into your science classroom. Depending on what you teach and the age of your students, you may need to adjust the ideas given, but hopefully this is a helpful place to start! This link includes a variety of apps that you can incorporate: http://learningcenter.nsta.org/resource/?id=10.2505/4/ss14_037_09_42 This article discusses how one teacher incorporated blogging to teach weather with their class: http://learningcenter.nsta.org/resource/?id=10.2505/4/sc10_047_08_24 Let us know if you use any of these and how it goes! Does anyone else have other ways to incorporate technology? -Megan

There are some really cool apps available for the iPhone/iPad. A few of them are:

  • Stephen Hawking's Snapshots of the Universe

  • NASA Visualization Explorer

  • Project Noah

  • Science Through Photography

Not all of these are free, but they al have great reviews!

What cool applications do you know for iPhone, or MacBook, I really liked their ecosystem and how the devices are connected with each other, but it seems to me that it can be done even cooler, what applications would you recommend for this?
