My district is developing a new high school integrated science course for 9th grade students. The general plan for the course is to emphasize earth & space science disciplinary core ideas as well as the physics focused physical science DCIs from NGSS while incorporating connections to life science and chemistry as appropriate.  I'm wondering what other districts are doing in a high school integrated science course and any shifts you have made with NGSS.  Is there a core resource that you find valuable for teaching the course?   Thanks for any ideas you have to share.

Try looking at the Conceptual Progressions Model in Appendix K from NGSS (www.nextgenscience.org) for some ideas. We are using the Conceptual Progressions model and require all 9th graders to take NGSS 1/Physical Science. Good luck!
