At the end of my unit on Energy this year, I have an activity planned for teaching about energy resources. I would like to use this activity called 'Energy Bandit Cards'. Basically, this is a game that the teacher hosts and it allows the student to interact with the material and learn about their personal energy usage. For example, one of the cards may ask the students to 'sit down if they open the fridge more than 5 times per day'. Another may ask the students to 'stand up if they make sure to turn the lights off whenever they leave a room'. It teaches students about the real life applications of energy conservation and resources. My question is: how can I make this activity more challenging for 9th grade Honors students? I often have trouble amping up activities for the gifted students. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated!
