I think this lesson plan is a great idea. For many of us living in the Midwest ( I am in the heart of the Midwest), we forget that many students may have never experienced an earthquake. A lot of educators in this area have not experienced many of nature's terrors like hurricanes, earthquakes, landslides, and etc... This lesson plan is perfect for building on the patterns and characteristics of earthquakes all over the country. I specifically like the thumbs up/thumbs down a concept to agree or disagree with whether or not a question is open-ended. This idea allows the class to interact without hurting a student's feelings. Thank you so much for the amazing lesson plan.
