I'm a preservice teacher preparing to teach my first science lesson. Do any of you veteran teachers have some good resources I could use to help incorporate technology and hands-on experiences into my lesson?
Hi Mary, I found the article below with some ideas for apps that can be used in the classroom: http://learningcenter.nsta.org/resource/?id=10.2505/4/ss14_037_09_42 There is also another older thread about incorporating technology into the classroom from a previous forum here: http://learningcenter.nsta.org/discuss/default.aspx?tid=HUfx0XxXDOg_E#56485 Does anyone else have other favorites? -Megan
Hi Mary - What are you thinking you will do your lesson on? What do you want the purpose of the technology you want to integrate into your lesson? Do you need tech for research/exploration? Do you want to do some team building or online communication tools? I love integrating tech into my classroom and would love to share with you some of the resources that I use if you could just point me in the direction of what you are thinking. Thanks!
Megan gave some really great links through NSTA. I like using https://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulations/category/new when I have a difficult time making a concept simple and easily broken down for students' understanding. However, my favorite site is; http://ngss.nsta.org/Classroom-Resources-Results.aspx?resource= I can spend way too much time there checking out all of the resources!
