I'm a hybrid teacher at my school. Most of my second graders are on Zoom but I do have a few in the classroom with me. As we get closer to spring, you know what that means - State Testing! Woo! Well, during state testing time we always take a break from the ELA and math curriculum. So this is a time where we really get to pull out the fun science activities and lessons (and social studies) that are not in our curriculum. In the past I've done discrepant events such as Mentos in soda, pencils through a bag of water, and other things that would be done OUTSIDE.
Well most of my class is on a computer, so I need to think of science activities/lessons that can be done inside. (Our school's wifi isn't strong enough for me to take a laptop outside.)
And I need activites that could be easily seen by the kids on Zoom. If I get too far away from the camera, they won't be able to see everything.
Does anyone have any ideas that can be done inside with Zoom/in-person kids?
