I am currently teaching in a second grade classroom, and my students are incredibly interested in studying the sun. Who are the notable explorers and experts that I should study and highlight with my class this year? Thank you for your input!

I just finished the Sun with my students. I would use the Parker Solar Probe.

It actually goes over the Sun-Earth connections. Dr. Eugene Parker was the first to talk about solar wind.

Thanks

Galileo was the first scientist to use an instrument to study the sun (telescope). One feature he was able to observe were sunspots. I built a simple image projector for our campers to use to observe the sun the summer of the total solar eclipse. You could make one for your students to use to observe and track sunspots.

I also agree that the Parker Solar Probe would be a great mission to observe with your students.
