Solar Week begins March 18th. The activities are designed to help your students learn more about the Earth-Sun connection. Visit their website to register: http://www.solarweek.org/cms/ I have also attached a collection I put together using NSTA and NASA resources featuring space weather and the sun. I'll be participating again this year with my Earth & Space science 9th graders.

Cris, For me the excitement of solar week is the ability to interact with scientists through the Q&A. One does have to register and this can be done at the the solar week website. Thank you for posting. Pam

Hello, Solar Week seems interesting! I am teaching 5th grade and I think my students would benefit by extending their Earth-Sun knowledge/connections. I have a few questions/concerns: 1. Would Solar Week be appropriate for upper-elementary students, like mine? I noticed that the collection you created were more geared towards middle and high school students. 2. Solar Week just so happens to land on our Spring Break vacation, how can I have my students and/or myself still participate in Solar Week? Again, I think this would be beneficial and interesting for my students. I did register for Solar Week, I just hope we're still able to actively participate during our Spring Break vacation.

Are there any National activities or events associated for Solar week? I use this info for my lesson on how space affects satellites and would love to work a National event or activity into my lesson. thanks
