I'm looking for a good activity on DNA replication. Does anyone have anything good?

Just saw your post. I haven't gotten into the habit of checking the message boards yet :) Are you still needing this or is the unit passed? What type of activity are you looking for...some practice or hands on or .....?

I am voting for hands on but either for me.

For what grade? I have done a foldable for 9th graders just to help them understand the general concept, or my 10th grade Genetics class created models of the process of DNA replication including various proteins involved. I have found that replication is a hard one to do as an inquiry activity.

Hi James,
I found this lesson online, and it has a pdf with DNA puzzle pieces that you can download and make. It might be fun to laminate a few sets and use magnetic strips on the backs. Then one could use the small white magnetic boards.

James,
I also love to do the DNA extraction of strawberries after learning about DNA. The students can see the real thing that way. :-)

Does anyone have a good website or other resource that I can find to learn about promoters?
