Have any of you view the series of books, 'Everything You Need to Ace Science in One Big Fat Notebook?'  I love the concept of this series and there is one for each core subject for middle grades students.

Is there a note taking format that you may have used that mimics this format...making note taking fun, artistic, colorful while incorporating associations that will help students take better notes and LEARN content?  I would appreciate your feedback and any examples and/or templates you are willing to share.

Hi Rebecca!

I also enjoy the layout and content of these books! As for classroom applications, you should look into incorporating interactive notebooks! Depending on the grade level you teach you could adapt the formatting and assignments to the needs of your students.  In essence, the interactive notebook brings Cornell notetaking and a creative synthesizing of information together.  They can be as involved as you make it and are quite flexible to your teaching style!

I hope this helps! I will see if I can find my own interactive notebook I had for my high school anatomy class to share some examples!
