Hello! Excited to use this forum as a resource!
Dear Bianca, Welcome to the NSTA Forums - I think you'll find many great ideas here for teaching science from colleagues. Some share their experience and knowledge and others like to share links to resources, etc. See a few links to recent articles from NSTA's Science and Children below. Take care, Flavio. http://learningcenter.nsta.org/resource/?id=10.2505/4/sc18_055_05_66 http://learningcenter.nsta.org/resource/?id=10.2505/4/sc18_055_05_18 http://learningcenter.nsta.org/resource/?id=10.2505/4/sc18_055_05_78
I just read one of the resources you sent about integrating engineering into the classroom. I think it's great because it is a great way to get students to think about where things come from and how they are invented, and it also created a motivation in those students to create their own recipe. Students need that motivation and guidance to create something themselves. Our world does need more engineers, This resource definitely was helpful in understanding how to introduce that type of thinking in the classroom. I recently attended a Mars Rover science fair and saw how students of elementary and middle school levels created their own Rovers to do research on Mars. I appreciate you sharing these articles, thanks!
