I was also wondering what could I possibly do to keep my first grade students engaged and then thought about how excited kids get with slime. So perhaps doing a slime project in class would be interesting to do that could also keep students interactive and engaged while doing this hands on activity. I feel as though this could also serve as a sensory skill. Hope this idea works out for you and your students. Have fun!
