What are some fun science moon activities that one can do with a first grade classroom?
I thought that this gross motor activity would be great for younger kids to kinesthetically learn the moon phases: http://www.learnplayimagine.com/2014/06/gross-motor-game-to-learn-phases-of-moon.html
A really fun activity that I've tried is making moon phases out of Oreos! The kids can use a plastic knife or popsicle stick to scrape away the filling on the Oreo to create each moon phase. Then, they can put the moon phase on a plate that is labeled with each moon phase. http://wp.lps.org/jbenson2/blog/2012/09/10/moon-phase-lab-and-sea-floor-spreading/
