To Science Leaders! I have some EXCITING news regarding National Middle Level Science Teachers Association that I hope you will pass along to your organization. *The application for the Paul deHart Hurd Award is due next month. The winner receives $1,000 to defray the cost of attending the NSTA national conference. Applications are available at http://nmlsta.wordpress.com/hurd-award/. Middle school science teachers are encouraged to apply *NMLSTA is sponsoring an entire day of programming at NSTA Boston that will address the unique needs of middle school science educators. The event will be held April 4 in the Boston Westin Waterfront and features networking opportunities, a dozen presentations geared for middle school teachers, door prizes, a middle level share-a-thon, and book author Dick Moyer of Everyday Engineering. Stay tuned as more events are being added! Please share with your organization that information about Meet Me in the Middle Day can be found at http://nmlsta.wordpress.com/conferences/ *Please encourage anyone and everyone to share a lesson idea, resource, or activity at our share-a-thon. All participants will receive a certificate acknowledging that they presented at the national conference. Interested individuals can sign up to present at http://nmlsta.wordpress.com/share-a-thon/ Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions or suggestions.
I have found this article to be exciting and frustrating. I have been looking for different sources to pay to go to NSTA conferences. Are there anymore websites that I can find that will help me pay for the conferences. I have submitted applications in the past but have been unsuccessful. I am currently not a member of National Middle School Science Teachers Association and my school district has cut all funding. Thank you for any help!
