Developing lessons for sun’s light

I am trying to develop lessons using the standard K-PS3-1. I was curious if anyone could recommend either phenomenon they have used, ideas to bring a lesson to life or perhaps a lesson that worked well for you. I am a college student trying to gather resources for my unit project on this standard. Any tips or ideas would be helpful.

Thank you

Kim, you can take students outside and have them first stand in the shade and then stand in the sun.  Where do they feel warmer?  Why is that?  Have they ever seen how cats like to lie in patches of sunlight?  Or a lizard lying on a rock in the sun?  (After cooling overnight, lizards lie in the morning sun to warm up enough for an early hunt.)

Ahhh, yes. Thank you! I am going to work off of this. I appreciate your time and input!
