Hello Science Teachers!
I am new to the field of science but I have been loving every minute of learning how to teach science after more than a decade of tutoring math.
The Labs that provide a platform for deep discussions! The level of scientific argument that plays a vital role in the classroom! Teaching in an Earth Science classroom was different than teaching my first year, which was 6th grade math. The flow and pace of my math classes were much different that the Science classroom. Granted there were and instruction I realize was much more procedural than what could have been planned as exploratory, but it was my first year. I have recieved excellent trainging in the GCSU's GREAT Program. The teaching and learning strategies I have been studying...Furthermore, I was granted the opprotunity to practice these strategies at a placement school while I was completing my MAT program online. I will achieve this goal by the end of the Summer. Woohoo! And I will continue my partner teacher's legacy to be a strong, consistant, and caring culturally responsive Earth Science teacher. She will embark on a new journey of her own as an AVID Teacher! I am excited to be entering my 3rd year teaching as a science teacher! Thank you for having me.
