Something I have struggled with is finding more hands-on activities for my kids when learning about earth and space science. We have made models during our solar system units, but I was trying to think of more engaging activities during our landform and rock cycle units.

What grade level are you looking for?  If you are looking for middle school or high school level, I have a fun rock roulette lab I have adapted.  It might be fun if modified for elementary levels.  

You create station cards for the kids and they roll dice and move through the rock cycle.  I'm not sure where I got it from many years ago and have modified it to work for my students.  But I did find somewhere on the NSTA website where it was mentioned:
