At ISSOTL 2017, a key note speaker touched on the peer review process in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. She emphasized the importance of empathy and support in the peer review process for SoTL as well as holding authors up to high standards. That has stuck with me as I often serve as a peer reviewer for several SoTL and DBER journals.
What do you think are some SoTL reviewer best practices? What have you seen from your own feedback on manuscripts or what are you yourself implementing as a reviewer?
