Good question Brooke. Each school district is different in their preferred lesson plan format. Is there a teacher that you can ask to share their format? Your cooperating teacher should be able to do this. I use a lesson planner just to map out each week and determine where I need to place assessments and to give me a rough idea of pacing. I also use this so I can tie lessons to one another. If I am teaching landforms, I find a trade book to support that, check for vocabulary that may work in ELA, and science or social studies, etc.
