Hi, I'm a preservice teacher in need of some lesson ideas for a biodiversity unit plan for high school.

Anyone have any great ways they start off their biodiversity unit? Or any engaging go-to lessons?

One activity that I enjoyed with my high school students was a hypothetical scenario. I asked them to work together to propose an idea to increase biodiversity on our school campus. They had to take into account the species in the area, what would attract them and which new species would work well with them among other aspects. The ideas were fantastic! Ideas for gardens on the school roof and fake trees that grew a variety of plants were among a few of the ideas.
