Being a science teacher

What is the hardest part about being a science teacher or teaching science?

Not enough time in the day!  Science is everywhere and encompasses so much of learning that it can be daunting to figure out when and what to teach.

When I was a 3rd/4th-grade teacher, I always started with science content as my starting point.  Everything else supported our science learning.  When the students were engaged and could relate to what we were learning, they were more likely to read more, use math skills more effectively, and exhibit critical thinking skills.

So to me, the hardest part is not teaching science!

I think it is hard to teach science sometimes due to the lack of time during the school day to integrate it into lessons. However, i think a great way to get students to learn science rather than skipping the entire subject is to combine science with math or reading. It allows information from two subjects to be taught to the students and no subject would be left out.
