It's not every day you see a chemistry-specific PD! Sharing a relatively easy way to get some PD credit hours, but more importantly, lesson plan materials (suitable for in-person or remote) you'd actually use! There are currently 2 asynchronous chemistry PD opportunities being offered. Details below:

The Center for Teaching and Learning at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy now offers a variety of online professional development opportunities. Among the current selection, there are two chemistry offerings: Gamifying Chemistry and Breaking the Mold of Traditional Chemistry Labs. Relevant lesson plan materials, including templates for both in-person and remote learning, are provided. The full description as well as all of the online offerings can be found on the educator development website page. Those interested can also access the direct registration link for the Gamifying Chemistry and Breaking the Mold of Traditional Chemistry Labs professional learning experiences.

Time Required: Up to 3 hours (This allows for a period of reflection and testing out the 2 presented activities.)

There are several other professional development opportunities available for grade bands K - 12 related to STEM, Inquiry Based Teaching, Problem Based Learning and Competency Driven Instruction.
