Hello! I am currently a preservice teacher in a Teaching Science course! I am planning to conduct an interview with students and then teach a lesson about the misconceptions of what clouds are made of and how rain falls from them. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for fun lessons or activities on this topic. Thank you!
Hi Megan, I did a quick search through our NSTA Learning Center Resources and I found a few resources with lesson ideas. I put them in a collection here: http://learningcenter.nsta.org/mylibrary/collection.aspx?id=f5oFA3yW!plus!aY_E Let us know how it goes!
I think this is such a cool idea! Crafts are always a great way to get the class involved. It also adds an extra step in the teaching process. Some kids pick things up differently and having them make a drawing of the different types of clouds could help them get a better idea. Jordan
You could see if you could adapt this: http://bit.ly/2cU3pwc

There are lots of great cloud lessons and resources in the 'Teachers' section here: https://scool.larc.nasa.gov I've also used this printable book with younger kids http://cmase.pbworks.com/f/TakeACloudWalkMar31LO.pdf Have fun!
Meagan, It's like we are living parallel lives. I am also a teaching student investigating and preparing for a lesson on clouds. Where are you in school? I am in Maryland. What grade(s) would you like to teach? I am leaning towards 4th, 5th, or 6th, or possibly middle school. I am finding all sorts of useful information in the NSTA resources. I wish you all the best! Jenn
