Hello! My name is Annika Krieg and I am a preservice Elementary Education student at Wartburg College. In my science methods class, we have repeatedly discussed the importance of cross-curricular approaches in the classroom. The STEM model has been extremely influential in demonstrating crosscutting concepts to effectively model and teach students how to make connections between other subjects, but I am having trouble connecting Science concepts to the Reading classroom. I can correlate the two subjects, but how do I make the lessons interesting and fun? I would greatly appreciate your responses and advice.
