Hello, my name is Kathryn Christy, and I am a pre-service educator in my fourth year of my undergraduate education.
The acronym STEM standards for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM is now a common term combining the collective and intersections between the four subjects. While STEM is comprehensive, I am wondering if an additional letter had to be added, what would the letter be and how that would uplift STEM education as whole?
To provide one example, my science class uses STEAM, with the “A” representing agriculture, which is extremely relevant to Iowa, one of the leaders in agriculture in the country and world.
