Heredity in the Curriculum

This is great!! I think elementary age students these days are very intrigued as to why they look more like a certain parent than the other. I saw a picture the other day of a direct descendant of Abraham Lincoln side by side with Lincoln himself, and the resemblance is uncanny. It was like they just recolored a photo of the president himself. Students want to know why they look the way they do and what characteristics are generational. This is a great resource that I will be saving for my future classroom.

This is a great resource and soemthing I will be sure to look back on later. Once kids reach elementary age they begin to question more and more science-related ideas. This will make for great conversation starters. I will want to answer as many questions as my students may have. As they will begin to wonder why they have certain traits.
