Can you give us a bit more information about this journal? I do not see it listed in Cabell's or SCOPUS. I see in Ulrich's it is listed as peer-reviewed. Is there an impact factor? If not, can you share readership? When selecting publishing venues, I have to demonstrate that it is a high-quality and high-impact journal. Without these metrics, the publication does not count towards my formal recognition (promotion).

I do see that this journal is supported by the American Association of Teaching and Curriculum, which also holds regular conferences.

Are there article processing charges?

This was shared in the University/College Professors thread. I couldn't tell from the journal description (and articles are not open access so I couldn't dig further) ... is this journal focused on SoTL research in higher education or are all educational levels within the scope for this journal?

Thank you for answering my questions!

Also - what is the average timeline to a decision?

Hi Emily, Curriculum and Teaching Dialogue is the official journal of the American Association for Teaching & Curriculum (http://aatchome.org/).  It is published annually to coincide with the AATC conference - Volume 23 will be published in October 2021.  Each volume of the journal consists of two issues containing articles related to research on teaching and/or curriculum.  Articles are not limited to higher education, CTD has published articles on aspects of early childhood, elementary, secondary, post-secondary, and adult education.  Articles are also not limited to American education.  Currently, CTD's acceptance rate is just under 40%.  There are no processing charges and the journal is published in hard copy only and not open access.  All articles go through a rigorous, blinded, peer-review process.  This link can give you more information about submission requirements and deadlines: http://aatchome.org/journal-information/guidelines-and-submission-details/

Currently the deadline for the research manuscripts is December 15th with notification sent to authors in February.

I hope this helps!  Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks, Franklin! I passed the information along to the lead author on a paper we are collaborating on as he was just discussing evaluating publishing venues for our work. Ultimately, the decision is his. Thanks again!
