I am currently teaching a lesson on food webs, we did do an activity were they found fun, but I know that it is overused.  What are some ideas I can use to demonstarte the food web in a more engaging manner?

I have my bio students list 10 things they eat & trace it all back to plants. So, milk & cereal - the cereal is wheat (or corn) & the milk comes from a cow that eats grass. This can lead to "what else eats corn" or "what if something happens to corn" etc.

My 10th grade Biology class will be dissecting an owl pellet.  It's easy to incorportae a food chain lesson with that (i.e. owl - mouse - grain  or carnivore - herbivore - plant).  There are lot of materials for that on the internet, such as worksheets, charts, examples of food webs and other stuff for a lesson on that, all hitting NGSS and common core standards.
