Hello Science Educators!
As a teacher, an important and time-consuming responsibility is the generation of tests, quizzes, and discussion questions. Our team of science education researchers at Harvard University is seeking funding to compile a no-cost, easy-to-use, online item bank of K-12 physical science assessment items drawn from our own research, that of the AAAS, and many other sources. Items will be categorized by Next Generation Science Standard (NGSS), difficulty, inclusion of misconceptions, and possible bias (gender and race/ethnicity). You’ll be able to select items, review the range and quality of items on the test you create, estimate the difficulty for your class, and print out the tests for free.
We are interested in the extent to which this tool would be useful to you as science educators. If you haven't already, please let us know by answering a few brief questions here. The results of this survey will inform us about the needs and interests of educators for this research-based resource. We will share results of a future project upon funding and completion of the project.
Thank you, we greatly appreciate your time and input! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Crockett
