When getting ready to do science experiments, how can I incorporate class safety in a fun and comprehendible way that my future students can grasp and enjoy while doing so?
Hello Amy, I believe that it is difficult to explain to children how safety is a prominent skill in science experiments. However, children to tend to like when you assign them a job because it give them a sense of importance and matureness. You can try to address all the safety rules as a class before you start an experiment either with a video or song. Then you can assign different students certain jobs. For example, Josh will be in charge of reminding students not to touch their faces while dealing with soil. Then Kat will be in charge of remaining students to leave their goggles on. This not only helps you as the teacher but students also get the importance of science safety.
