Hello everyone! My name is Ysabel Silguero. I am a senior and currently in my second block of the education program at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and my major is elementary education with a certification in bilingual. As a future teacher I often ask myself, will I be able to manage my classroom as a new teacher? To any education students or experienced teachers, what advice can you give me on how to manage my classroom effectively as a new teacher?

Set clear boundaries and hold steady on them. If it is wrong for one child to do it is wrong for all children to do. Let the kids help you come up with the classroom rules during the first week so they feel that they have some ownership in following them. Always allow a chance for kids to move back up as well.
