Hello! I am a third-year Elementary Education Major with Science and Reading Endorsements at Wartburg College. I am wondering what the best way to teach The Human Body System is while it is hands-on. I was in a middle school classroom for field experience where students were learning about The Human Body System but my Cooperating teacher struggled to have hands-on activities. 

Hey Allie -- 'Ali' twins here :) I teach PLTW Human Body Systems at the high school level and we create a ton of models! I think elementary students would enjoy being crafty and learn so much from their designs. Sometimes we use paper foldables and other times we use 'junk drawer' craft leftovers. Sometimes they have instructions and other times they are using pictures to make their own design. There is also a cardiopulmonary simulated pump toy that can be purchased at Walmart that may serve as a great demo. Heart Pump Model
