If you teach about supernova, or using them to measure distances in space, you are invited to explore Exploding Stars with Rubin Observatory in a free webinar:

Saturday July 27

8-11 am PDT/ 11am – 2pm EDT

Vera C. Rubin Observatory will partner with the American Astronomical Society for a free 3 hour workshop. During this time you will:

  • Become familiar with the new data and analysis tools in the Exploding Stars investigation (appropriate for high school level learners)
  • Be introduced to supplementary resources such as videos, a phenomenon, and assessments
  • Learn about the three dimensional design of all meterials that supports the NGSS
  • Ask science questions of a professional astronomer who is familiar with supernova data
  • Discuss classroom implementation with colleagues

Certificates of participation for three hours of professional development are available from Rubin Observatory to those who attend the complete workshop in real time. The workshop will be recorded for those who wish to view it later.

Register for the workshop by July 26: https://forms.gle/nHiduKu1hZtqB41e6
