This column discusses resources and science topics related to students in grades preK to 2. This month’s issue has students developing a seed-planting activity that allows all children to actively participate and document their understanding of seeds.

This is related to the 'Needs for Seeds' probe that teaches students that all seeds have similar and different needs. So, doing this activity can help students learn that all seeds have different and similar needs, and you can figure out these needs by observing how and if your seed grows.
