Hi everyone!

I wanted to share some upcoming, virtual programs from the UCAR Center for Science Education over the next month. These free programs are designed for middle and high school students, but anyone is welcome.

MEET THE EXPERTS

What is it like to work at the National Center for Atmospheric Research?! Join us as we talk with experts to learn about what they do in their work, the highlights and challenges, and how it impacts us and our world. Then ask them anything you want to know about what it's like to do their jobs! Upcoming programs & archived program recordings are available on the Meet the Experts page.

The next two events have a common theme - supercomputers! Go behind the scenes with systems engineers at the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputer Center on January 27 or talk with an NCAR software engineer about how he uses supercomputers everyday to help explore our world on February 10.

There are two session times for both of these programs, at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm Mountain Standard Time. It's a casual presentation followed by Q&A which is facilitated on Zoom. Automatic closed captioning is available. Questions can be submitted in advance if you have students who cannot attend the session live and the recording will be available shortly after. More details and registration for Zoom links can be found on the Meet the Experts page and any questions about these sessions can go to Katie Wolfson.

The UCAR Center for Science Education amplifies and complements the work of the National Science Foundation's National Center for Atmospheric Research, by offering educational resources and programs for students and the general public. We provide a range of digital and in-person learning opportunities to engage K-12 students and teachers in explorations of atmospheric, weather, climate, and related Earth system sciences.

Please spread the word!

Sincerely, Becca Hatheway
