I was poking about in cyberspace pondering how I was going to teach pH without frightening my students when I came across VisionLearning. This is sponsored by NSF is the animations are fabulous!
Our Library is an award-winning collection of peer-reviewed learning modules written by professional educators and scientists. These modules provide text, interactive animations, glossary definitions, current news and research, scientist biographies and practice exercises to provide a rich and complete learning environment. Modules in our Library can be sorted by subject or science standard and can be customized in our MyClassroom.
Our library is also available in Spanish.
One can register and set up a link for your class. Where has this been all my career?

If you teach Middle School Chemistry....you have to visit this site. It is from the American Chemistry Society (AMS). There are also several archived web seminars for 6 of the chapters. I loved it. Especially the way the lessons were set up in the 5E set-up. Very easy to use, nice sequence, and great activities.

One site I like is ptable.com. There are a lot of online periodic tables, but this on is just like the one in the back of the book- except interactive! All those orbitals they need to learn about, energy levels, isotopes, properties, and so much more in a graphical format. A great way to tie many of the concepts together interactively. No lesson plans, not especially deep, but a simple, direct way for students to explore relationships within the periodic table.
