The purpose of asking young children questions that don't have one correct answer. Is to inspire higher-level thinking skills and enhance their expressive and recptive language development. For example, by reflecting on what they observe and explore. Through open-ended questions students have the opportunity to express their prior knowlegge and understanding of the content.
