I have seen many tv shows and movies about people traveling through time. However, I do not know whether if traveling through time is possible or not. It's a question that has been on my mind for quite a while and I would like to ask whether it is possible or not. If it is, how does it happen? What scientific explanation that could be behind that theory?

Time travel makes for great science fiction stories (going back to H.G. Wells's 1895 novella, The Time Machine), but no one knows how to actually achieve it, and there are some good arguments for why it's logically impossible.  For example, if it were possible for you to go back in time, you could, in principle, kill your parents before you were born; and then how could you currently exist?

Of course, you do travel into the future -- at the rate of 24 hours every day! :)
