Hi everyone,
I'm looking for effective strategies to teach the concept of photosynthesis to my elementary school students. I want to make sure they understand the basics in a fun and engaging way. What activities, experiments, or visual aids have you found most successful in helping young students grasp this important science topic?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Hi Chantal! I think the topic of photosynthesis is a great choice for elementary kiddos! I have one hands-on activity that I vividly remember partaking in when I attended elementary school. I think it would be fun for students to plant a seed, and visually understand photosynthesis in the real life world. It would be a fun classroom engagement for the entire class to participate in with weekly data analysis and reports. Hope this helps!
Hello Chantal, an interactive activity that came to mind while reading your post is photosynthesis bingo. You would have to create a bingo with terms and concepts that are related to photosynthesis when they start to mark down terms they learn about them at the same time.
