Hello everyone! I’m currently a third-year Elementary Education major with endorsements in Science and Reading. My goal is to transition into teaching middle school science. I’m looking for suggestions on engaging, hands-on activities or experiments that can help middle school students grasp important chemistry concepts—like the periodic table, chemical reactions, and states of matter—while ensuring they align with NGSS standards. Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Two years ago, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Science and Cooking program at Harvard, which transformed the way I teach by making science more engaging and relatable for my students. I’ve implemented many of the concepts from the program in my classes with great success. If you’d like to learn more, feel free to check out this link: Science and Cooking at Harvard.
