Here in El Paso, Texas, we recently have participated with Sally Ride Science, UCSD, Civil Air Patrol Desert Aces and Boy Scout Troop 191 and 37 to communicate with the lunar satellites Ebb and Flow.
During the most recent EARTHKAM and MOONKAM missions, participants were given codes to communicate with the satellites so photographs could be taken according to time or position. The study of lunar cartography, geography, longitude, latitude and Universal Time Coordinates, as well as orbital mechanics, in depth study of camera structure, function and design.
I'd like to thank Josh Lieberman and Kelly Mc Cormick for their guidance.
While all cadets and Scouts were given the direction and opportunity to participate, as always there was a degree of attrition, however from a few who did participate, we received reviews
from Q.C.: " Yes it worked I took five pictures",
from S.R.: " worked, I got two pictures",
From L.C. " worked, have not viewed pictures yet",
from C.P.: "Yes it worked" .
Programs made available to ALL schools, such as this offer the real time application of STEM!!
