Reviewing Energy
Overall, this collection can be a great source to help teachers teach about energy. It contains SciPacks that students can use. The SciPacks are beneficial because is allows students to watch videos, see picture, read about energy, and then it asks you questions throughout it. For example, in the resource “Energy: Different Kinds of Energy” it gave students videos and pictures of examples of different types of energy. It showed students that energy is all around us. Teachers can give the resource to his/her students and have them complete it as a school assignment. This will not only enhance their knowledge on the material, but it will also tell teachers how much their students actually know by looking at their scores from answering the questions. This collection, also, has a good variety of different resources. It contains SciPacks, journal articles, an online e-book, and chapters. It is important to have a mixture of different types of resources to ensure the best information. Collections are beneficial for teachers because it allows them to collect resources and information on a lesson they will teach and they can keep it together in one file. Organizing resources is necessary to have a well functioning class and lessons. NSTA collections allow teachers to stay organized. This collection is a great example of that. It contains information on how to teach energy to students from grades K-8th. I would definitely recommend this collection to teachers who are teaching elementary students about energy.
