I personally feel that technology is only appropriate when doing research and it should only be a desk top computer. iPads are a great distraction to students because all they would want to do is play games and not really pay attention to what they're learning.

Animal adaptations is probably my favorite science topic to teach because I love animals and the students are often very interested in this topic as well.

I have several students that I have to figure out different ways to explain things. You have to really open your mind and think outside of the box to come up with different ways to teach to these students. Maybe also ask other students how they have learned the material and what helped them, then adjust.
